  1. Tundra Biome Research By Nathan Whittington

  2. TundraGeography & Climate • 6 to 9 month winters make the tundra a very cold place for most of the year. • Tundras are found in upper North America and North Eurasia • The soil is not very fertile, for the soil is mostly frozen. This is called permafrost.

  3. tundraBiodiversity • Plant species: lichens, grasses, and small shrubs. • Animal species: wolves, song birds, caribou, arctic horses, oxen, hawks, and snowy owls.

  4. tundraAdaptations Needed for Survival • Animal adaption: wolves have sharp teeth to eat, fur to stay warm, and strong legs to run fast. • Plant adaption: plants have adapted to the soil. Which is not very fertile

  5. tundraInteractions of Biotic and Abiotic • There is very little water in the tundra, so creatures drink as much as they can whenever they can.

  6. What is Biodiversity? Biodiversity is the variety of life, and is measured on many levels

  7. How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem? • Biodiversity involves living things interacting with each other, and those interactions help them sustain the life in their ecosystem.
