About Miami • Fifth-largest populated urban area in US (5.5Million) • Major hub for culture, entertainment, arts and fashion (famous “South Beach” area) • In 2008, Forbes’ ranked Miami as “America’s Cleanest City” • In 2011, WalkScore named Miami the 8th most walkable city • Very diverse culture offers multitude of cuisine options • Current Temperature this week: 76-82 F (24-28C) • There are 14 universities and colleges in the Miami area

Accessibility to Miami International Airport • Miami International Airport serves 35 million passengers each year – rated 28th busiest airport in the world • MIA is a major hub and the single largest international gateway for American Airlines, the world's second-largest passenger air carrier • United States' second-largest international port of entry for international air passengers • Non-stop flights to over seventy international cities in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East • Ground transportation: shuttles, taxis

Crazy Ideas • Instead of a conference bag, we are thinking about a beach towel (and modest folder for holding conference program, etc.) • Go paperless with USB proceedings • Enrich the social aspects with daily summaries to email, twitter, etc. • Consider 2-page paper extension for those authors who address empirical evaluation of their approach (please see next slide)
