Reminders about paragraphs • Once you write your rough draft, read through it to see if the sentences flow together naturally. • Add transition words (such as “one example of this…” or “she also demonstrates this trait by…”) • Each piece builds onto the MAIN TOPIC SENTENCE (your first one)… make sure it’s generic enough to include ALL details in the paragraph. • We need to hear your voice, but make sure it’s also professional • Avoid “I”, “me”, “my”… etc. • Your word is final… no “I think”

When you are done with the paragraph… • *Turn in to the basket – DUE TODAY! • *Finish the rest of the worksheet for The Lottery • *Turn in to the basket – worksheet due today! • Work on missing/incomplete work to hand in to the Late folder • Work on things for other classes (homework or studying) • Grab a Word Search from the front of the room * Actions written in orange are DUE TODAY.
