  1. 5. How did you attract/ address your audience?

  2. Colour Front Cover- For my front cover I have used very feminine colours like pink, purple and blue as I wanted my magazine to look girly. I used a very bright pink for the back ground which draws you in therefore catching the eye of my audience which is young females. I chose to use these colours because they work well together and are very bright and eye catching. I also chose to use these colours because they fit in with my genre that I chose to use. As my genre is Clubland which is a very upbeat and energetic type of music I had to use colours which shows that my magazine has energy, therefore using these bright colours showed this and also made it more ‘in your face’. Double Page Spread – For my double page spread I changed the back ground colour of the picture so it would fit in with my colour theme, I did this by using photo shop and then added it in to Indesign on my double page spread. I changed the background colour to purple instead of pink because I wanted my pages to look different but also wanted them to still look feminine. The purple makes my double page spread look professional and sophisticated which also gives it a modern and up to date feeling which would attract the younger generation which is what my audience is. Contents – For my contents page I used a light pink background to fit in with my front cover, tying it together. I made the background of my front cover a lot brighter than the double page spread and the contents page because the front cover needs to stand out more as its the page that gets seen first. I like my chosen colour theme because it works really well together, I also think it works well to fit in with the genre of my magazine.

  3. Images For 3 of my images I used a young woman to attract my audience because I wanted them to have someone they can refer to and look up to. She also look very confident therefore giving the magazine a positive look. I also used a picture of my self and made it into a CD cover, I did this so my magazine would look more professional making my audience want to buy it.

  4. Masthead/tagline For my Masthead I made sure it fitted in with my genre of music, I did this so my audience would know just from looking at the masthead what type of magazine it is. I called it clubbers as clubland music is all about raving and clubbing , therefore it gave the right vibe to my magazine. I also added a tagline under the masthead so my audience had a clear understanding of what the magazine contains , this means they wouldn’t have the need to flick through the pages, they would buy it because it contains what hey want. I also included the website for my magazine, meaning my audience can buy CD’s, download apps or order latest issues straight from us.

  5. Headline and Cover lines I also used puffs (text within a shape) to make the storylines seem important and to also make them stand out. For my Headline, I made my font bigger so it would stand out from the other story lines as it was the most interesting therefore it would catch the eye of my audience making them want to buy it. These cover lines are very exciting to my audience at it gives them the opportunity to win a trip to Ibiza, get up to date with the latest clubland hits and to also visit the best night clubs making my audience want to buy and read my magazine to find out about these storylines.
