  2. Student Goals • Read “Antojos” on pp. 276-286 focusing on theme and narrator. • Compare theme across genres. • Identify figurative language that helps the reader envision the setting.

  3. Figurative Language • Your challenge today: • Create an organizer that does two things: • Identifies examples of figurative language. • Explain what each example brings to the piece. How does it add to or help create the author’s style? What imagery does it help create for the reader? Why would the author want to create that imagery?

  4. Theme • A theme statement is a general statement about life that can be applied to multiple works.

  5. Student Goals • Add pictures to slides. • Proofread for errors. • Double-check all explanations. • Load Ppt. to Wikispace.
