1. Indian Institute of Social and Educational Development The genesis of INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (IISED)took place in September 2008 with a simple wish to spread love and hope among the not-so-fortunate in our society thereby getting us recognition from all over the world. The Dr.V.KRISHNASAMY fulfilling the noble vision of the trust. management board of trustees under the distinguished chairmanship of Hon'ble Vision To establish a healthy and wealthy society which concerns itself in the welfare of the people and the total development of all. Mission To bring about social transformation with emphasis on health, liberation, equality, and justice. Objectives To built awareness through capacity building programmes and to empower the people physically, mentally, socially, economically, culturally, environmentally and legally. To promote and conduct all kinds of training and research programmes, courses, workshops, seminars and conferences for the benefit of the target communities. To create awareness about addiction, mental health among general public and to organize prevention programmes at various levels and do research in the fields of alcohol and other drug- related problems.

2. To establish Educational and Cultural institutions, colleges, schools, libraries, book banks, reading rooms, old age homes. Jobs bank, technical institutions, research institute centers, distance education centers, overseas education and other public charitable institutions. To establish and run Naturopathy and Acupuncture hospitals, Medical and paramedical colleges and related institutions for the relief of the sick and to aid or co-operate institutions and societies for doing similar services. To conduct awareness camps on Nutrition and Dieting and free Naturopathy and Acupuncture medical camps and to provide natural and herbal supplements to the poor and needy. To distribute rise/food to the poor on special occasions and also to provide relief during natural calamities to the rural people. Thrust Areas of IISED IISED has been playing its own modest but credible role in Tamil Nadu by facilitating qualitative changes in programme implementation through a process of the following components: HEALTHCARE EDUCATION ENVIRONMENT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRAINING NETWORKING IISED engaged in the following thrust areas of activities: • • Organize training programmes, conferences, seminars, and workshops Analyze and propose solutions to problems in planning and implementation of the programmes for the development of rural community. Disseminate information through periodicals, reports, booklets and other publications Undertake, aid, promote and coordinate research on its own or other agencies including universities • • INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (IISED) was started with the sole AIM of providing opportunities for the holistic development of oppressed and neglected section of society from the rural and urban areas of the most backward southern districts of Tamilnadu. The IISED, Madurai has been implementing integrated health and development programmes for the backward community in Madurai district, Tamilnadu, India from 2008. Apart from its multisectoral intervention for vulnerable groups, IISED provide an ideal environment for students of social work to gain hands-on experience of working in a rural setup. Facilities for Alternative Medicine Students to undertake project studies in the villages are available along with experienced faculty to guide the students.
