  2. From the President Dear Members and Friends: Most people are simply unaware of it of how far Louisiana has come in the development of the technology industry, and the LTC is helping to lead the way. For the past 4 years, Louisiana’s Technology Employment Ranking in the USA (out of 50 states) is as follows: 2007: 49th 2008: 47th 2009: 40th 2010: 32nd (Statistics courtesy of Tech America – CyberStates October 2011) We still have a long way to go before we reach the top, and that’s our goal. It always has been and we are making terrific progress. We continue to connect both users and producers of technology as well as bring in national technology leaders from across the country to educate us on advancements in technology that can help with Louisiana’s growth. Our membership continues to grow because people see value in what we do. We support technologies across all industries and that is reflected in the diversity of our membership. New programs are initiated every year as we expand across the state. Our development of the Baton Rouge market has allowed us to open an office there and we expect future remote LTC offices across the state as we expand our presence. If you are not yet a corporate or individual member you are missing out on business and networking opportunities. If you are not yet an investor in marketing and promoting your organization with the numerous events and programs we implement each year, you are missing out on potential leads for your business. We have a variety of programs to fit your marketing and promotional needs and the LTC is a great investment. For several years I have had the honor to lead the LTC for Louisiana. I continually tell people: “Louisiana’s organizations are as good as or better than other organizations in the country.” I know first hand because I have seen them in operation over and over again. It’s our time to get the recognition we deserve in the development of Louisiana technology industry and the LTC is going to help make it happen. Our members, Board of Directors partners, sponsors, volunteers and the State of Louisiana all give us the opportunity to serve you. The LTC exists because they make it possible, and we will continue to provide our members great value for their member and sponsorships. Our goal is to help you succeed and that translates to our success. If you are not a member or investor yet, we think you should be; so you can use our resources to help you grow your business. We educate, we network and best of all we have fun. We think it’s a great mix. Thank you again for your continued support of the Louisiana Technology Council. Sincerely, Mark S. Lewis
