  2. A Heart For Children One hundred years from now, It will not matter What kind of car I drove, What kind of house I lived in, How much I had in the bank Nor what my clothes looked like.

  3. One hundred years from now, It will not matter, What kind of school I attended, What kind of typewriter I used, How large or small my church, But the world may be … a little better because… I was important in the life of a child. Margaret Fishback Powers

  4. God doesn’t call the qualified,He qualifies the called. • He doesn’t ask you to be successful, He asks you to be willing to serve • Be obedient and faithful in the task He has given you. • Do not be discouraged- spiritual results do not lie in your hands

  5. God will use you when you have the right attitude,and the right message.

  6. It is not your responsibility to “work in the hearts” of children- that is God’s domain Our Part- • TO PRAY FOR GOD’S BLESSING • TO PREPARE CAREFULLY • TO PRESENT THE WORD • TO PERSERVERE TO THE END

  7. God Has Equipped You God has given you a unique combination of spiritual gifts to accomplish a unique purpose that will lead to unique results. • Abilities and talents God uses to get His work done • They must be used to glorify God • Nine task-oriented gifts that shape how you do ministry

  8. Spiritual Gifts • EVANGELISM- INCORPERATING THE GOSPEL • PROPHECY- USING THE WORD OF GOD TO EDIFY • TEACHING- COMMUNICATING THE CONTENT OF THE SCRIPTURE • EXHORTATION- MOTIVATING OTHERS TO APPLY LESSONS

  9. SHEPHERDING- TENDING TO A FLOCK • MERCY- PROVIDING COUNCILING • SERVING- MOTIVATING OTHERS IN PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS • GIVING- TEACHING OTHERS ABOUT STEWARDSHIP • ADMINISTRATION- MANAGING RESOURSES • God’s goal in giving us gifts is not to label, but to equip us to be more effective.

  10. Identifying Spiritual Gifts • Take a gifts test • Talk to a friend • Ask yourself these questions: • Is my thinking about gifts consistent with what the Bible teaches? • Do others recognize the gift in me? • Am I effective in using this gift in ministry?

God has gifted you for a task that only you can do • When you discover your spiritual gifts, use them in your ministry • Continue to develop them • Be the best Children’s Ministry Worker you can be • Noah was a good man, righteous in God’s eyes. Seek righteousness, and the pressure of perfection will not burden you.

You are not prepared to teach, until you have prepared yourself through prayer Pray for: • The teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit • Guidance in preparing the lesson • Those in your class- conviction of sin, impact of the scriptures, life application • Your student’s spiritual growth • God’s blessing

  13. The most effective ministry of a Children’s Ministry Worker is accomplished on their knees before God

  14. Praying for Ourselves Pray for a Teachable Heart • Always learning, always being shaped and molded • Always willing to be pruned, willing to be broken • Never afraid to try to walk on water, to go out and conquer the land • Never afraid to try something new or daunting, never afraid to fail

Always putting their whole heart into everything they do to the glory of God • Never half-heartingly doing anything, never lukewarm. • Always stepping out in faith • Never stepping back in doubt • Always bold in their teaching • Never boastful, knowing they are still learning • Never giving up! • Always persevering

  16. Pray for a Teachable Heart,it will not only change your ministryit will change your life.
