  10. Major problems identified in the districts and suggestions to improve Problems 1. Social stigma & discrimination of pts, family & community Suggestions to improve for DN • Increase in IEC activities in community • Involvement of ASHA • Proper counselling of LAP,families & community in healthy contacts. • School IEC

  11. 2. Late payment of incentives to ASHA for newly refd. Cases of Leprosy Suggestions • Regular monthly monitoring by DLO for timely payment.

Poor disability prevention & management • Suggestions for DN • Timely proper management of reaction cases • Follow up of DPMR guidelines • Motivation for self care practices (Gr-I&II) • Select RCS cases & motivation for surg. • Improve referral services • Maintain DPMR records at HCF • Provide material support – persons affected with disabilities – appliances MCR, splints, crutches, etc.

  13. 4. Poor Lab facilities for skin smear exam at secondary level Suggestions for DN • Provision of trained Lab technicians • Provision of staining materials at sec. level like Ziehl Neilsen stain,1% carbol fuchsin, 1% acid-alcohol,& 0.2% methylene blue solution.

  14. 5. Non payment of operated RCS cases at tertiary level Suggestions • Provision of payment after surgery to BPL holder’s at tertiary level.

  16. Other Activities • Supported in Leprosy rally on 30th Jan. ’10 at Jhansi • Participated with DLO / CMO in distributions of blankets / fruits / sweets at PAL home – Jhansi. • Supported DN for screening camp.
