The main lessons learned • A clear governance structure is essential; • Close cooperation of business and IT side needed; • Early involvement of all stakeholders (national and international); • Content pilot followed by technical pilot actions; • Discussions: 80% content / 20% technical • Strong push from National Accounts & Balance of Payments statistics created the momentum;

  8. Conclusion SDMX statistical and technical standards together with SDMX IT tools and IT infrastructure provide the "toolkit" for • the harmonisation and integration of data structures, • the rationalisation of national/international data flows, • finally improving the data quality of official statistics.
