  6. Hiking Groups • A NatureBridge educator • 1-2 adult chaperones or teachers • 16 students or less Most day hikes are less than five miles with many chances to stop and learn!

  11. Environmental Science Educators Have college degrees or equivalent work experience Experienced teachers and group leaders in the outdoors Bring great diversity of experience, a passion for teaching, and a lot of fun and energy to the program

Safety at NatureBridge All educators: Have First Aid and Wilderness First Responder certifications Carry a radio to connect with our team on campus Our campus is: Fewer than 10 minutes from the Sausalito Fire Station Fewer than 30 minutes from several major hospitals In a emergency situation, parents may contact us during business hours at (415) 332-5771. After business hours, a Site Manager will be the contact for emergency purposes.

  14. What to Wear Weather in the Marin Headlands is unpredictable! Mornings can start off foggy then end up hot and sunny Dress in layers: jackets, hats and gloves Waterproof layers: poncho or rain jacket

  15. What to Pack Pillow **This is not a comprehensive list. Please double check the list given to you or found on our website.

  16. Footwear Good gear is functional, but doesn’t need to be fancy! You don’t need to go out and buy brand new clothes and equipment.

  17. Dorms Dorms are shared but each school has its own designated area Students may only be in the dorms when an adult is present At least one adult for every 20 students will sleep in the dorms Bathrooms and showers located in the same building

  18. Food Students bring their own lunch on the first day All other meals are provided Vegetarian options are always provided Please let the teacher know of any special dietary restrictions well before the trip

Student and Family Agreements • All students and adults are expected to fully participate in all aspects of the program. • Parents/guardians are responsible for picking up their childif they are too ill to hike, injured or need to be sent home because of a behavior violation. • Safe and inclusive behavior is important. Students are expected to follow all behavior guidelines. Students must review student expectations prior to the trip. • NatureBridge Cell Phone Policy: • Policy [4.16]When student participants are in learning groups with NatureBridge educators and school chaperones, cell phones should be set in airplane mode and used only for taking photos, video or specific school projects. When student participants are not in learning groups, any cell phone use will be supervised by teachers and chaperones. Student participants may not use cell phones in NatureBridge cabins, dining halls, or bathrooms.
