  1. The 10 Commandments

  2. “For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? Therefore, you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matthew 5:46-48.

  3. “God is love.” “I am holy” 1 John 4:8; 1 Peter 1:16.

  4. “The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” “but like the Holy One Who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior because it is written . . . ” LOVE & Holiness 1 John 4:8; 1 Peter 1:16.

  5. “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” John 14:15.

  6. “I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish. So, for my part, I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.” Romans 1:14-15.

  7. “Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you.” Matthew 5:42.

  8. “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind”; “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37, 39.

  9. “Law and love need each other. Love needs law for its direction. Law needs love it inspiration.” John Stott, The Message of Romans, 350.

  10. “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.” James 2:10.

  11. Summary • A Debt!!! • No separation! • No Division! • Negative and Positive

  12. “By the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.” ========== “So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.” Romans 3:20; 7:12.

  13. “Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith” Galatians 3:24.

  14. “What the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:3-4.

  15. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature.” ========== Итак, кто во Христе, тот новая тварь 2 Corinthians 5:17.

  16. “But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching.” 1 Timothy 1:8-10.

  17. “Every time we meet someone we ought to say to ourselves, “I need to show him or her the love of Christ. I have a great and wonderful debt to pay.” If you have ever had a personal debt, be it ever so small, you know that the first thing that enters your mind when you see that person is that you “owe” them. We need to truly see ourselves as spiritual debtors. When we go to church, town, work, shopping, school—wherever we go, whoever we meet, we owe love. This is our debt—loving on the level.” R. Kent Hughes, Romans: Righteousness from Heaven, 250-51.

  18. “Let all that you do be done in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14.
