MURMANSK REGIONAL INTEGRATED PROGRAMME ACCESSIBLE ENVIRONMENT IN THE MURMANSK REGIONFOR 2014-2015 (DRAFT) Goal of the programme: Ensure barrier-free access to prioritized facilities and services in prioritized spheres of life for the disabled and other low-mobility groups of the population Objectives of the programme: Improved legal and institutional framework for accessible environment Improved legal and institutional framework for accessible environment Improved access to prioritized facilities and services Reduce social distance in the society and develop a positive attitude to the problems of the disabled Information, methodological and staffing support of the rehabilitation and social integration system Improved access and quality of rehabilitation services 6

Out of 158municipal libraries of the Murmansk region 55(or 35%) are to a certain degree equipped and adapted to serve people with disabilities and other low-mobility groups of population: 10(6%) – fully meet accessibility requirements for the people with disabilities; 45(or 29 %) – entrances are fitted with different equipment (fixed ramps, rail ramps, special lifts, access ramps, call buttons).
