  2. An update on the work of EMC’s Affordable Housing Task and Finish Group Maximising opportunities for delivery of affordable housing • Joint EMC/CIH housing training 2013 and other opportunities

EMC’s Affordable Housing Task and Finish Group Has taken forward the following initiatives: • A ‘Prospectus’ setting out the economic and social benefits of investing in affordable housing the East Midlands, • A ‘Best Practice’ module on the EMC web-site (jointly branded with the Chartered Institute of Housing), showcasing innovative examples of where councils have been able to facilitate the delivery of affordable housing with little or no HCA funding; and • An ‘Affordable Housing Declaration’, demonstrating high level political commitment by councils to a limited set of key actions aimed at increasing the delivery of affordable housing.
