Types of Logistics Management Jobs Supply Systems Analyst (Systems)- Initiates and conducts special studies of automated management and data systems, assuring that systems are responsive and fully meet mission requirements. Analysts provide justification and analysis for areas of concern such as: excess inventory, procurements, dormant stock, budget stratification, etc. Provide metrics, policy, and direction to item managers regarding sales and distribution, asset management, and requirements determination. Provide input, interpretation, and enforcement of policy and guidance. Actively seek out areas of concern through analysis of reports, creation of new reports, & assignments from higher headquarters. Provide briefings to senior leadership on metrics and implement procedures for correction. Supply Systems Analyst (Sales Orders Systems/Inventory Systems) - Management of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) supply systems activities. Ensure the system is functioning as designed utilizing analysis techniques to manage the supply systems processes. Analyze new system changes and develop new concepts to enhance data collection and processing requirements. Review, evaluate and update information/data based upon examination of current systemic processing. Design and develop scans to retrieve information which assists in identifying, researching, tracking, determining and validating errors, inconsistencies, and processing of data. The goal is to correct and minimize future systemic errors and inconsistencies. Interact and support on a daily basis with customers who have concerns, issues or problems as identified above. Recognize, research, and provide guidance/feedback to the customer thus assisting them in how and why the problem occurred should it happen again. Item Manager- Responsible for demand and supply planning for consumable and reparable items. Demand Planning (DP) consists of analyzing and interpreting demands and returns for an entire system or components of a system and providing an accurate forecast for the Materiel Resource Planning (MRP) process. The item manager is also responsible for supply planning for buy/repair, schedule in and schedule out recommendations and for initiation of purchases and/or repair programs. The item manager is accountable for database forecast and accuracy of all elements involved in the supply process. Actions include processing and release of sales orders, purchase requisitions, disposals, stock transport orders, etc. Packaging Specialist- Develop, review and/or justify necessary packaging guidance and technical services to Army elements. Review procurement work directives to provide levels of protection and adequacy of packaging requirements. Travel within and outside the U.S on packaging initiatives providing the appropriate responsibility/authority. Provide packaging cost analysis when requested by Foreign Military Sales offices, contracting offices and project offices.

Types of Logistics Management Jobs AWCF Supply Systems Analyst (Financial)- Develop and utilize available Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) reports to consolidate the total aviation and/or missile spare parts requirement in support of AMCOM customers (i.e. soldiers). Present those requirements in budgets and recurring reports through the use of various web based and Microsoft Office products. Justify through narrative description the importance of receiving adequate funding and impacts to weapon systems if funding is not received. Monitor funding provided to repair and production facilities from commitment, obligation and disbursement, to close out of contract. Stay abreast of current policies and regulations to ensure that funding is used properly. Determine prices for all aviation and missile parts by reviewing detailed data associated with costs of production and repair. Set prices so that revenue will match outlays on an annual basis. Act as advisor to any organization that uses AMCOM funding in order to ensure that the correct policies and procedures are followed. General Supply Specialist - Work within the Supply Chain Execution business area of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Process Sales Orders for movement of materiel in order to satisfy customer requirements; move materiel from one site to another through a stock transport order or disposal of materiel. Process orders for shipments to contractors for repair of materiel. Maintain the Management Control Activity to ensure sales orders for Government Furnished Materiel are contractually authorized prior to delivery to a contractor. Process requests for credit for customers who receive discrepant materiel. Research and resolve Supply Discrepancy Reports from customers for orders in question. Correct and/or process transactions to maintain asset balances in the ERP. Perform annual record reconciliation to maintain inventory accuracy/accountability between storage sites of AMCOM owned materiel and AMCOM asset balances in the ERP. Technical Writer - Writes, Reviews, and Validates Technical Publications (i.e., Operations and Maintenance Manuals); responds to requests/suggestions for changes to technical publications. Logistics Influence on System Design - Work as part of the systems engineering process to design systems for ease of maintenance and use. Analyze system design and subsequently the development of maintenance plans and supply support concepts. Put the maintenance plans in place and refine them based on actual performance. Maintenance Manager/Equipment Specialist - Interprets engineering data to provide the supply system with relevant information on purchasing, maintenance and disposal for new and existing equipment. Provides technical support for publications and responds to publication inquiries from soldiers/customers. Provides logistics focused input to the development of the maintenance concept and sustainment plan of weapon systems.
