  3. WARM-UP: Using Context Clues DIRECTIONS: Using the context clues from the sentence, Create a definition (in your own words) for each underlined word. Write the word, then the definition. “Nothing about this endeavor is certain. There may be no one left in the city by then or no safe place for them to come back to.” The mayor was a heavy man, so big in the middle that his arms looked small and dangling. He lumbered to the front of the room and faced the students.
