  3. HYPOThESIS We think that fruits will make electricity, but only a little bit, and that only the acid fruits will make electricity. menu

  4. MATERIALS • Lemon • Orange • Tomato • Mango • Apple • Banana • 6 copper nails or screws (about 5 cm long) • 6 zinc nails or screws or galvanized (about 5 cm long) • Light bulb with wires. menu

  5. PROCEDURE 1.Either roll the fruits on the table gently or squeeze the fruits with your hands gently. DO NOT BREAK THE FRUIT OPEN. You want to get the juice flowing inside the fruits. 2. Put one zinc nail and one copper nail into the fruits. The nails need to be 2 inches apart. Don’t put the nails through the fruit. 3.Wrap one wire around the zinc nail and wrap the other wire around the zinc nail. 4.See if the light bulb lights up. 5.Try this with each fruit. 6.Write down the results on the chart on the other page. menu

  8. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS None of the fruit produced any energy, although the lemon and the orange were supposed to help the light bulb light up. WE know that the lemon and the orange were suppose to work but we think it can work with bigger fruits or some other light bulb . Maybe the fruit became rotten. we know that acid in fruits can make electricity. menu
