  2. The Siege of Tsingtao was the attack on the German-controlled port of Tsingtao in China during World War I by Imperial Japan and the United Kingdom. It took place between October 31, 1914 and November 7, 1914. It was the first encounter between Japanese and German forces, and also the first Anglo-Japanese operation during the war. Japan and Britain had 24,500 infantry compared to the German's 3,650 infantry.  The leader of the German's infantry was Alfred Meyer-Waldeck and for the British was Nathaniel Walter Barnardiston. Japan had two generals which were Sadakichi Kato and Kamio Mitsuomi.

  3. LEADERS AND CASUALTIES Sadakichi Kato and Kamio Mitsuomi were the commanders for Japan along side  Nathaniel Walter Barnardiston for the British. 519 soldiers were killed and1,335 were wounded. They lost 1 protected cruiser. Other items damaged were 1 battleship and 1 aircraft. Alfred Meyer-Waldeck led the German Forces. They lost  199 men and 504 were wounded. Items that they lost were 1 protected cruiser, 1 torpedo boat, and 4 gunboats .
