  11. Planning for College: Spring and Summer of 10th Grade • Keep your grades up. • Get involved in activities outside of the classroom. Assume leadership positions. • Course selection is important! • Find out more about colleges: guidebooks and internet. Be open-minded in your college search. Be willing to think outside the box!

Planning for College: Spring and Summer of 10th Grade • Attend college fairs • If time and finances permit, visit colleges • Start thinking about the type of college you would prefer (size, setting, etc.) • Military academies: start planning now! • Get a summer job and begin saving money for college
