  2. College Visits • Seniors are allowed two days of college visitation per year. Before the visit, the student must inform the Attendance Office. It will be the responsibility of the student to return with a letter of verification on the college’s letterhead stationery. • Plan to attend College Fair Wednesday, September 12, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm • College reps on campus - Naviance

  4. Applications and Naviance • Some schools will accept electronic submission of transcripts and letters of recommendation • Schools using certain applications require LHS to go through Naviance when submitting school pieces of the application

  5. Step 1 Discuss college options with family and determine where you will apply

National Common Application and Naviance • National Common Application schools require school documents be submitted through Naviance • The various documents will be ‘electronically packaged’ then submitted • You must complete the ‘blue box’ in Naviance, request letters of recommendation, and transcripts… then you must touch base with Ms. Walls for submission

Letters of Recommendation and Survey • What has not been conveyed to that college? • What do you want them to know? • Spend more time on the Why’s! • Why is that your biggest accomplishment? • Why was that your proudest moment? • It cannot repeat information from your essay, transcript, or application

  25. College Essays • Stay on the prompt • Include things your transcript cannot convey • It is another aspect of your portrait • Proof read • Be honest • This is your chance to have a voice
