  1. Nancy Homan1, René Reitsma2 BXL-214 (homann@bus.oregonstate.edu) BXL-432 (reitsmar@bus.oregonstate.edu) Multi Engineering Cooperative Program (MECOP)http://mecop.ous.edu

  2. (OR) industry-sponsored, university-coordinated (paid) internship program. Students engage in two, six-month internships. Internships are with two (different) ‘MECOP’ companies. Internships can be located anywhere in the state of OR. Summer/Fall after academic years three and four. COB BIS program is standard part of MECOP. MECOP Business pilot (‘BECOP’): Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Project Management . Expected number of Summer/Fall 2011 BIS + BECOP positions: 15. MECOP – Intro

  3. Internships: Summer/Fall after academic years three (junior) and four. Jan. 10, Feb. 4, 2011: MECOP on-line application process open (see MECOP Website). College & MECOP filters (see MECOP Website for eligibility criteria) Mar. 4, 2011: Selection & Placement interview training/information session. Mar. 11, 2011: on-campus Selection & Placement interviews (MECOP company reps.) Spring Term 2011: BA-407 (1 cr.) MECOP prep class. Jun. 20, 2011: Internship start. MECOP – Process (for Juniors)

  4. MECOP is a well-regarded, well-funded internship program. A full year of internships goes a long way toward ‘experience.’ Internships are well paid. You do not select the companies; the companies select you. MECOP adds to your time in school (at least six months). Must have at least one term in school after second internship. Carefully(!!) schedule your course work around MECOP. Since MECOP is a paid internship, carefully(!!) consider financial consequences; e.g., financial aid issues. !!! Consult with your parents/guardians and COB advisors !!! MECOP – Things to Consider
