  3. Tevin Campbell ‘s Music Career • Born in Waxahachie, Texas, Campbell was introduced to the R&B by Quincy Jones in August 1989. Campbell's debut single was "Tomorrow (A Better You Better Me)" which reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip hop Singles chart in June 1990. It was the lead single from Quincy Jones' critically acclaimed ensemble LP Back on the Block which won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1991. After working with Jones and writers and producers including Siedah Garrett, Campbell worked with producers Narada Michael Walden, Al B. Sure, Babyface, and others to record additional music.

Tevin Campbell ‘s Acting Career • After his appearance in the 1990 film Graffiti Bridge, Campbell made a guest appearance the following year on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, playing fictional teen idol, "Little T", a celebrity crush and date of Ashley's first season in the episode "Just Infatuation". In 1995, Campbell voiced the character Powerline in Disney's A Goofy Movie, singing the songs "" and "". • In 1999, Campbell made another guest appearance on the hit show Moesha along side Brandy Norwood. In the episode, "Rite Stuff", he just played a student involved in the ball. • Campbell is currently playing the role of Seaweed J. Stubbs in the Broadway musical Hairspray. He has been with the cast since December 2005.

Tevin Campbell Arrested • Singer Tevin Campbell recently was arrested in Los Angeles for allegedly soliciting an undercover police officer as well as possessing a small amount of marijuana. • According to a report released by the Los Angeles Police Department, Campbell, 22, on July 8, solicited a lewd act from an undercover officer. Also following the arrest, officers recovered a substance resembling marijuana and a pipe containing possible marijuana residue. • The Vice Unit had been investigating a complaint of lewd conduct occurring in the area. The LAPD report stated: "This investigation is ongoing and has resulted in the arrest of numerous other male suspects for both engaging in lewd acts in public and for soliciting lewd acts to occur in public."

  7. Tevin Campbell returns to the spotlight • As he entered adulthood, however, Tevin faced several challenges both professionally and personally. After several successful releases his 1999 album, 'Tevin Campbell', saw his lowest point in record sales. At this time Campbell was hanging with an evangelical Christian crowd, a community that was not welcoming to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people. • Campbell was involved in 'Jesus is the Answer' (JITA) Ministries. His circle included other young celebrities like Brandy Norwood and Lamont Bentley from the hit television show 'Moesha'; Todd Bridges from the show 'Different Strokes'; and Tyrone Burton from the television show 'The Parent Hood'..
