  2. Positive Wellbeing Group Today is our final note on RESILIENCE. Resilience definition: Resilience describes a person’s capacity to cope with changes and challenges and to bounce back during difficult times. The more resilient someone is, the better they are at getting through tough times, and the better their chances at recovering from experiences of adversity and trauma. Today’s Top Tip! Etrategies – Plan your coping strategies. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

All Year Groups Easter School – Career/Employability Advice Alison, Jennifer and Lisa will all be in during the Easter holidays to help with any careers advice, Modern Apprenticeship application forms, college places, interviews etc. They will only be in on certain days and it would be really helpful if they knew who needed appointments in advance. Please drop into the CARE room (2nd floor opposite Mr Smith’s room) today from Interval to make appointments with them.

Financial Sector Work Experience Opportunity Hymans Robertson – Pensions , Investments and Risk experts We have been approached by Hymans Robertson, they are running a week long work experience programme in their  Glasgow office, giving Young People who are interested in the financial services industry an opportunity to gain insight into how their organisation operates.  They are currently inviting S5-S6 to apply for the programme which will run from Monday 29th June to Friday 3rd July in Hymans Robertson  Glasgow office, 20 Waterloo Street Please see Pastoral Care for more information. S1 S1 Children’s University - 13th and 14th April  Strathclyde University are offering some activities during the Easter holidays that would be a great way to gain your passport stamps at a Public Learning Destination. See Mrs Rashid for more information 2. Fablab @ Strathclyde (2hrs) To introduce the concept of digital manufacturing through the use of Computer Aided Graphics software and associated laser as well as vinyl cutters. You will get the chance to create an image on computer in 2 dimensions , cut this out on a laser cutter and enhance this image with the addition of vinyl cut text. 1. “Energy and it’s applications” (2.5hrs) Range of station experiments and activities. You will build, observe, attempt and design experiments which exemplify the way in which energy can be used in everyday life. * Electrostatics: Moving objects without touching. * Floating and sinking * Sound: Building communication devices. * Rocks and Crystals: How rocks form. * Electromagnetism: Making and using magnets. 3. Spring Challenge Our colleagues at Kent Children’s University have produced a Spring Challenge series of activities. 24 activities on a worksheet which could earn pupils up to 30 hours of credit.
