  1. Holes In AutoCAD Make a Slam Dunk

  2. COMMON HOLES IN MACHINED PARTS COUNTERBORE • COUNTERSINK • DRILL/REAM

  3. COUNTERBORE

  4. COUNTERBORE - RIGHT & WRONG ERROR ON THE TOP VIEW - SHOW BOTH DIAMETERS AS SOLID CIRCLES ON THE SIDE VIEW - SHOW COUNTER BORE DEPTH - USE HIDDEN LINES

  5. COUNTERSINK

  6. COUNTERSINK - RIGHT & WRONG ERROR ON TOP VIEW- SHOW BOTH DIAMETERS AS SOLID CIRCLES ON SIDE VIEW- SHOW ANGLE & DEPTH OF COUNTERSINK

  7. DRILL/REAM

  8. THRU-HOLE - RIGHT & WRONG WRONG! NOTE: USE CONTINUOUS LINETYPE IN TOP VIEW

  9. BLIND DRILL -RIGHT & WRONG NO-NO! USE CONTINUOUS LINE TYPE ON TOP VIEW SHOW THE DEPTH OF THE HOLE IN SIDE VIEW- USE HIDDEN LINES

  10. HOLE ANNOTATIONS ALWAYS USE HOLE DIAMETER - NEVER THE RADIUS!!!! ALWAYS NOTE IF IT IS BLIND OR THRU!!! ALWAYS NOTE DEPTH IF IT IS C’BORE OR BLIND ALWAYS NOTE ANGLE IF IT IS C’SUNK

  11. THRU-HOLE ANNOTATIONS USE DIAMETER USE ‘THRU’ NOTE LEADER ARROWHEAD IS ON OUTER EDGE OF CIRCLE BOTH ACCEPTABLE!

  12. BLIND HOLE ANNOTATIONS TO MAKE THE DEPTH SYMBOL SHOWN IN THE THIRD VIEW, USE THE SYMBOL DROPDOWN IN THE MTEXT DIALOG BOX.

  13. COUNTERSINK ANNOTATIONS FOR THRU - NOTE DIAMETER OF THREAD, THRU DIAMETER OF C’SINK X ANGLE OF C’SINK FOR BLIND - NOTE DIAMETER OF THREAD, DIAMETER OF C’SINK X ANGLE OF C’SINK DEPTH

  14. COUNTERBORE ANNOTATIONS FOR THRU - NOTE DIAMETER THRU DIAMETER C’BORE DEPTH OF C’BORE FOR BLIND - NOTE DIAMETER X DEPTH DIAMETER C’BORE DEPTH OF C’BORE

  15. REPETITIVE HOLES A SPACE MUST BE USED BETWEEN THE X & THE DIMENSION

  16. REPETITIVE HOLES - PATTERNED THE SPACING BETWEEN THE HOLES IS INDICATED AS 4X THE SPACING MUST BE DETERMINED BY DIVIDING THE DISTANCE BY THE NUMBER OF SPACES BETWEEN THE HOLES

  17. SUMMARY • THERE ARE THREE MAIN TYPES OF HOLES SHOWN IN FABRICATED PARTS - • DRILL • COUNTERSINK • COUNTERBORE

  18. SUMMARY HOLES ARE SHOWN IN A SYMBOLIC RATHER THAN ‘TRUE’ MANNER.

  19. SUMMARY HOLE NOTES FOLLOW AN ANSI STANDARD FOLLOW THE RULES!!!!
