  1. What are germs? Germs are micro-organisms that can’t be seen with the naked eye. A germ can either be a virus, fungi, bacteria or a parasite. Even though you can’t see germs they sometimes can be harmful and make you sick. Germs, Germs Everywhere! How do we stop germs from spreading? Wash, wash, wash your hands! Washing your hands is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of germs. Washing your hands before and after you eat and after you use the bathroom is very important. How do you keep those germs away? • Washing your hands the right way • Turn on water • Get your hands and wrist wet • Apply soap • Rub your hands together for at least 30 seconds. • Make sure to rub soap on the back of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. • Rinse the soap off your hands. • Dry your hands. How do germs spread? Germs spread easily through the environment. When you are sick you can easily spread your germs by sneezing and touching.
