  1. Music in Advertising In this lesson we will: review last lesson’s work Listen to some famous sonic logos Create our own jingles for a product. Perform jingles to the class.

  2. Review of last lesson…… What is important in an advert? Could an advert have no music? Would you be more likely to buy a product if there was music with the video? Would we be more influenced to buy a product if there were words with the music? How does advertising work on Radio? Is it any different form on TV? (Style, volume, amount of music, etc)

  3. Here are some more adverts:Consider the following… • What style of music is it? • What does the music suggest about the product? • Who is the target audience for the product? • What happens if the audience don’t like the music of the advert?

  5. Let’s make a TV advert! Let’s start to build a story-board!

  6. Things to include in your advert: Does the jingle: • Relate to a target audience? Level 5 • Is so catchy that it will capture everyone’s attention regardless? Level 4 • Or does it do both? Level 6 • The jingle melody on keyboard. • And/Or Singing/vocals. • Backing beat (choose appropriate style). • You might also include chords, a bass line, ostinato, or riff.
