Goals for the GE Mixer • Information about: • the process of proposing Foundation and American Institution courses for the new GE program • the process of proposing Pathways for the new Program • support for faculty working on new/revised courses and Pathways • Connect: Opportunity for faculty, staff, students to meet one another, present ideas and make connections for further work • Share information to facilitate future work

  3. Feedback Found at various points around the room. Please feel free to fill out as many feedback forms as you like. Deposit them in the box provided. Feedback will be reviewed by GEAC and the Implementation Team and relayed to others as appropriate.

Resources GE Implementation website: RFP, Templates, Rubrics copies of templates and rubrics available at tables … Google docs: Virtual workspace for faculty working on joint projects (Pathways, CourseLINKS, etc) … Folders will go up after Mixer and some time to reflect … Members of Implementation Team and GEAC are available to answer questions today … and via email and follow-up face-to-face consultation.

Today’s Program • Brief Introduction • Phase I of GE Implementation: Brainstorming, Connecting • Numbered tables associated with Pathways, Foundation (by disciplinary area) & American Institutions • Sign-in, Explore, Mingle, Mix, Converse, Ask Questions • Connect, Seek Answers, Record Information, Indicate interest in working on one or more Pathways (table sign-up) • Provide feedback using forms provided, deposit in box • Clarify, Seek out I-Team, GEAC members for questions • Scribes at each table, sign-up sheets, report out to group and I-team • Closing: brief reporting out, next steps …

Ground Rules • Respect for others and their ideas … brainstorming stage • Open mind … no bad ideas in brainstorming phase • Connect … look for common ground … limit of 10 Pathways!!! • Creativity … opportunity for renewal of curriculum • Broad view … How does your discipline contribute to the development of an engaged member of a community? How does your discipline complement others? What will benefit students? • Share … ideas, feedback, on curriculum and process moving forward… …on behalf of the Implementation Team and GEAC Thank You
