  3. EPISODE 0: Introduction / Context • Voice over / view of what application purpose is • Summer School / Activity Week • Host school • Visiting school

  4. INTERACTIONChoice • Host / Visitor selection (could be any of…) • Red / blue button (very simple) • Characters in clothes of host/out • YouTube video (animation) of two school groups doing something • Facebook page related to each school • Stills with comments (comic strip?) about school life at the two schools • User does a puzzle (possibly cultural in nature) and selection from that • User does a quiz and we decide for them • User randomly assigned by computer or by us • ENDS with user selection of host/ Visitor

  5. EPISODE 1: What should we play today • Selected school discusses playing games • Outcome selection of hide and seek

  6. EPISODE 2: Selected team play Hide & Seek • Cut scenes of hide and seek game • Rule display • Character personality display • Win / lose conditions identified • ENDS: game finished – everybody happy • Prime character to discussion space

Possible script… (beginning episode 1) • Char-1 Lets play a game • Char-2 What game should we play • Char-3 Hide & Seek • Char-4 Oh no lets play rounders • Char-1 We haven’t got time for rounders • Char-2 Hide & seek would be fun • Char-1 Ok, lets play hide and seek • Char-3 Great, I’ll be it.

Interaction: Discussion Space 1 • Character goes to tell user about what a super time they have had playing hide and seek • Some discussion of whether user plays hide and seek • ENDS: character off to next activity • Purpose: User to start to make friends with character in a positive, non-conflict oriented way, so that user is focused towards being an everyday friend rather than shoulder to cry on.

EPISODE 3: Conflict • 1 of non-selected team • 3 of selected team • Different rules of hide and seek • What happens when tagged • How do you win lose? • Block 1-2-3, Teams, Icicles, other variations • Rules go wrong • non-selected character gets it wrong – game falls apart • Conflict situation • ENDS: selected team character is angry and storms off to discussion space to talk to user

  10. INTERACTION: Discussion Space 2 • User suggests what character should do • Drop down with alternatives • Free text • Buttons / icon presses (visual menu • And why (some ToM in here) • ENDS: character says thanks very much, will think on that. Off to another activity. See you later

EPISODE 4: All together • All schools together • Decision made to play hide and seek • With a different out-group character our selected character has same or similar experience to episode 2 • Either tries to tell rules and explain what is going on • Or tries to tell rules and failure • ENDS: character off to discussion space to talk about how it went

INTERACTION: Discussion Space 3 • Character tells user how it went and what does user think the rest of the summer school will be like • User interacts • Drop down with alternatives • Free text • Buttons / icon presses (visual menu • And why (some ToM in here) • ENDS: character says thanks very much, will think on that. Have a great summer. I know I will.
