  5. What Does it take to have a smart Classroom? • DVD Player • .VCR Player • .Receiver • .Document Camera • .Computer • .Projector • .Control System

  6. What it Costs?

  7. The Projector • Must be bright enough for room • Have mounting hardware • Have enough inputs • Have a control port

  8. The control system • Controls projector using RS-232 • Controls receiver using IR signals • Mounts in cabinet • Easy to use interface for teachers and students

  9. What needs to be done? • Hang Projector and Run Cables • Building Maintenance should be involved • Can be contracted out • Hang Smart Board • Maintenance can do this or it can be contracted out • Mount Speakers • In the wall or in the front of the cabinet • Wire Cabinet • Contracted out

  10. Smart Board • Controls the computer like the touchpad mouse of a laptop • Can write on it and capture with the special digital pens • Has many tools and functions

  11. In Conclusion • Brings the room’s resources to one central location for the teacher to effectively use these resources in the classroom • Must involve building principals and maintenance • Looks great in presentation rooms and libraries as well
