  2. Background In May, 2008, at the District Convention, we announced that we had established a new District Calendar, that allowed us to “delegate” maintenance beyond the Webmaster. This User’s Guide introduces new users to the Calendar, and how our senior leaders can add new events to the Calendar.

  5. Our Senior Leaders can create events! • As leaders of a broad organisation, you are welcome to add events of wide interest to the District Calendar. • District Events • Division competitions • Club Officer Training sessions • Large community/division events • Major club milestones

  6. Access the Google Calendar pages • Using your web browser, go to the URL • http://www.google.com/calendar

  7. Log in to the Google Calendar Email: tmidistrict73dg@gmail.com Password: (Contact Webmaster)

  8. Select an appropriate Calendar View Try the different views.

  9. Select the Date for your Event Click on the Date for your event.

  10. Add the short title for your event Follow the example advice. Change Calendar to District 73 Toastmasters. Select Edit Event Details.

  11. Add other appropriate details Once you have added more details… Click Above, or Page down to SAVE.

Q & A • Who will have access to these facilities? • It is anticipated that access to maintain the Calendar will be limited to Division Governors and above, in the District. • Can I delete entries? • Yes, Google Calendar offers options to delete entries. • Can I delete other people’s entries? • Since the Executive share one username and password, and have full update access, that they do not interfere with existing entries in the Calendar. • What is the URL for Google Calendar maintenance? • The site is provided by google, currently at • http://www.google.com/calendar (use tmidistrict73dg@gmail and the supplied password) • Can I practice somewhere? • Use the Calendar “District 73 Division Governor” as the default is shown on Page 10, to create entries that are not publicised to the broader community.
