  3. Background 2006 small project in Christchurch Korean Community Pilot project in Auckland in Chinese and Korean communities in 2007 Target: 10 Chinese and 5 Korean restaurants Result: 52 restaurants participated and gave up to 15% discount Gamble Free Day Dinning Discount

  4. 2008 Taken place in 5 major cities: Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington (Upper & Lower Hutt, Palmerston North, Petone), Christchurch, Dunedin Fixed 10% discount Wider Asian communities Gamble Free Day Dinning Discount

Short-term Increased understanding of Gamble Free Day in Asian community Raised awareness of gambling harm in Asian community especially the most at risk groups i.e. food industry workers, international students & new migrants Increased knowledge of availability and accessibility of Asian problem gambling services (more people hit on PGF Chinese and Korean websites during the Gamble Free Day period) Changed of attitude towards discussion on problem gambling Logic Model – Outcomes & Impact

Communities (online survey) 73%- improved my knowledge on gambling 81%- increased my awareness about gambling harm 73%- gave me opportunity to chat about problem gambling with my friends, workmates & family 85%- knew more about the services provided by the Asian Services, PGF 85%- increased my confidence to seek help from or introduce my friends/family to the Asian Services if necessary in the future 97%- recommended PGF to continue the Dining Discount activity in the 2009 GFD campaign Logic Model - Evaluation
