  6. Prepare an Introduction • “60 Second Interview”or Elevator Pitch • Present – “I’m a junior majoring in…” • Strengths – “I’ve always been good at…” • Past – “Last year I interned with…” • Future – “I’d like to work in…” • Now you try…

  7. Research Employers • Find out who is coming • Learn key facts about the organizations that interest you • Company mission, key products & services • Organizational structure, culture & values • Hiring practices/ job openings • Current news, SPU alums, LinkedIn contacts

  8. Prepare Good Questions • What sets your company apart from others in the industry? • What do you like best about working for this organization? • What are the traits and skills of the people who are the most successful at this job?

  9. Prepare Great Questions • I saw online that your company …… Could you tell me more? • May I have your business card? • What would be the most effective way to follow up with you?

  10. During the job fair • Get the lay of the land • Smile! • Ask good questions • Get contact information • Take notes • Take a break when you need one • Network with everyone!
