  1. EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTRE TWO NEWSLETTER 2014 Term 3, Week 5 THURSDAY AFTERNOON- NEWS!!!!! Every week this term we will be doing oral language (news)… there will be a topic to talk about, your child is asked to tell news about this topic only. WEEK 2 TOPIC Who am I? • Write 5 clues about your favourite character (from a book, T.V. show or game). Be ready to read your clues to see if we can guess who you are. Participation- It is extremely important that ALL children participate in News. I understand some topics are harder, and I don’t expect you to help out every week but PLEASE try encourage you child to write 5 clues this week…. NEEDED For Science, I am in search of Strawberry or Tomato punnets for our Science experiment. We will be planting seeds in soil in these containers testing the different types of weather and how that effects the growth and change of the seeds and soil. Sounds of the week As we are a split class and everyone learns at different speeds, different sounds are introduced to different groups on a weekly basis. This week’s focus sounds are: • Important Days- • Tuesday: Music and Sport • Wednesday: Library • Friday: Athletics Carnival practice • Important Dates- • 22nd August, Gold Coin Donation Free Dress for Royal Flying Doctor Service • 27thAugust, Dance Incursion • 11thSeptember, Main School Faction Carnival • 12th September, Maths incursion • 19th September, ECC Sports Carnival • Reminders- • This Friday is a FREE DRESS DAY, for a gold coin donation the children can wear whatever they like. The money goes towards raising money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, a worth cause… Please donate!!!
