  4. Business Roles The Business Integration team is critical to a successful Retek implementation in a decentralized organization. The BI team is responsible for capturing division specific buying, planning and execution processes which differ by division and potentially differ by region within a division. Business Function Regions Northern California Merchant Organization Southwest Southern California Washington/ Alaska Northwest Oregon / Mountain Full Line Stores Business Planning and Analysis (BPA) Organization Central States Texas / Kansas Capitol East Coast Southeast Northeast Note: Merchant and BPA organizations differ by Buying Division. See Roles and Responsibilities document for detailed definitions of each Merchant and BPA role

  5. BI and Business Roles To ensure successful Retek roll out, strong leadership is needed to build ownership and skills in the organization. The BI team is in place to support the CMM and BPA organization through the Retek implementation. CMM, BPA Director BPA and BI Teams LEAD • Lead the Retek transition and implementation • Understand and communicate Nordstrom’s future using Retek • Communicate realistic expectations • Communicate implementation activities • Raise issues and propose solutions • Coach individuals • Hold team accountable • Celebrate wins • Set and manage to milestones • Determine priorities • Provide detailed, Division-specific Retek information • Provide examples of Retek capabilities • Co-facilitate resolution of Retek issues within the team • Ensure questions are answered and issues resolved in a timely manner • Help to identify where additional leadership support is required • Help to define and ensure milestones are met OWN • Engage business team in constructive discussions regarding Retek processes, tools, and implementation • Identify and overcome resistance to change • Motivate team to raise issues and propose solutions • Define Division-specific processes, roles and tools for Retek roll-out • Help identify and overcome resistance to change • Ensure Project xx is appropriately resolving Division-specific issues SKILL • Build needed Retek capabilities • Ensure roles and responsibilities are consistently implemented • Help identify team and individual training needs • Actively participate in training teams • Provide individual coaching as appropriate • Assist roll out of roles and responsibilities • Ensure training is tailored to Divisional needs

Deliverables Sample BI Deliverables include • Divisional Business Readiness Checklist – Pre and post implementation tasks • Countdown document – Timeline of Business Readiness Tasks • Divisional Roadmap: Ordering, Item Setup, Supplier Setup and General Best Practices • Shoulder to Shoulder Documentation • Buyer Readiness Checklist – Assessment done by BI based on shoulder to shoulder visits post implementation
