  4. Introduction *Writing is one of English language skills . It use to express about feeling, action, thought and concept in written form . We'll discuss writing in English for Palestine curriculum through three stage : * Stage 1 “ grade 4 “ * Stage 2 “ grade 8 “ * Stage 3 “ grade 11”

  5. * Notes about the writing in English for Palestine. *Problem related to teaching writing in English for Palestine.

  6. * Strategy for teaching the students writing . * Conclusion

  7. First stage grade (4) 1- In SB, there aren't especial section about writing . Only some question ask the student put the word in suitable place. For example: unit (6) lesson (3) page (18) “ listen and write “ 2- In WB, there are a lot of question about writing , such as writing word in suitable place , script alphabet or word . For example : Unit (6) lesson (2) page (17) “ look and write , match and write , writing “

Second stage : Grade (8) 1- The text book contain different types from writing such as : letter(F ,INF) , paragraph and essay for example : Unit8 :“write letter construction asking advice” “ write replay letter with advice “ Unit 5 : “ prepare to explain the game of football in two paragraph “

  9. 2- The exercises in text book is various such as complete letter, paragraph, order the sentence to make paragraph, rewrite, and write (paragraph, essay, or letter) 3- All the exercises in WB reinforce the writing exercises in SB. For example : Unit(16) in SB, there is exercises about writing report and WB contain tow question about writing report to reinforce the SB exercise .

  10. Third stage: Grade (11) 1- The text book concern on writing formal letter, paragraph and essay . For example : Unit (4) “ write opinion essay “ Unit (9) “ write letter to newspaper “

  11. 2-There aren't variety in exercise 3- The WB doesn't contain exercises to reinforce writing in SB . For example : Unit-9- in SB “ write letter about community project to newspaper “ but in WB we don't find question to reinforce SB exercise .

  12. * Notes about writing in English for Palestine : 1- The curriculum begin step by step with student to develop their skills in writing , they begin in the first stage with only word Then in the second stage sentence complex sentence, paragraph and short letter in the third stage long letter, essay and reports .

  13. 2- The text book give the student example, pictures and chart to help the student to understand and answer the question . 3- The subject of writing connect with the subject of the unit. For example: Grade-11- unit-2- the title is “ The death of disease “ so the writing subject is about problems which cause disease .

  14. * What is the common problem in writing ? 1- student : *Some exercises is difficult for a lot student.Especially in first stage because the teacher doesn't have ways to teach the student writing. * The student don't have word or good languageto help them in writing skill especially in first stage the student don't interest in writing .

  15. 2- Teacher :*Teachers don't have teqnique help him/her to teach the student writing . *The teacher don't focus in writing skills such as, when teacher give the student homework but, teacher doesn't see the homework and correct their wrong . 3- Time * The time is shorter then curriculum so the teacher can't teach the student everything and give them enough exercises .

  16. * Strategy to teach the student writing: 1- The teacher should be clear in what skills he/she is trying to develop . 2- The teacher needs to decide on which means or type of exercise can facilitate learning skills . 3- Then the teacher can proceed to focus on what topic can be employed to ensure student participation .

  17. 4- The most important factor in writing exercises is that student need to be personally involved in order to make the learning experience of lasting value . 5- Encouraging student participation in exercises while at the same time expanding writing skill which he/she want to send it to the student .

  18. Conclusion Writing considers important skill in English language . English for Palestine try to give the student writing skill in good form . It concern in all type of writing such as, word , sentence, expectparagraph , letter and essay . Wewhen the student finish secondary school , they will be to excellent in writing skills .
