Take the bus to and from work in the Interior Why? • Buses are safer than a car • Less risk of a Road Accident • Ifthere is an accident you are better protected in a bus • You can relax in comfort, talk to your friends read or sleep during the journey • Let the bus driver do the driving • Your company pays for the bus-does not cost you It make sense to take the bus-well doesn`t it??

  3. Taking your car to and from work in the Interior? Why? • Cars are less safe than a bus • More risk of a Road Accident in a car • If there is an accident you are less protected in a car • You cannot relax, or sleep in a car • If you are doing the driving, you will get tired driving long distances-especially after working • You pay for petrol, more servicing and repairs, due to higher mileages driving to and from work It does not make sense to drive in your car

  4. Taking this car to and from work, from Nimr to Adam, cost FOUR men their lives, devastated their families, and friends, .. WHY? WHY? 3 wives without husbands, 28 children without a father

  5. This Land-cruiser hit their Nissan Sunny, Head On, WHY? FIVE DEAD Driver is in a coma The driver may have been asleep

  6. Examples of those who have died , or been seriously injured when using their private vehicle to/from work…… DEAD DEAD DEAD One DEAD, one badly injured Badly Injured Badly injured

  7. Some other drivers also took their cars to work……… 2 Injured Two Dead Two Dead One Permanent Disability

  8. Take the Bus – not your carYou know it makes sense! Taking the bus is sensible behaviour

  9. IF ONLY the four had travelled on the buses arranged by their company… 4 DEAD …their wives and children, mothers and fathers, would not have to endure the pain and grief of their own Endless Suffering.

  10. The way forward:Show this safety presentation at HSE meetings, toolbox talks-- in particular stress the advantages in taking the bus to and from work, the monetary advantages as well as safety. Discuss. Take the Bus - you know it makes sense. CSM/15 April 2004
