    3. Tip 1: Floating Shortcut Menus Context-sensitive short-cut menus Right click on an item to get a menu to appear. Select a command from the floating menu or mini toolbar Mini Toolbar When you select a word, a ghost palette appears. It also appears when you right click on text Mouse over it and select a formatting option.

    4. Tip 2: Use Keyboard Shortcuts Keyboard shortcuts the same as in Office 2003 Examples: Ctrl C for copy Ctrl F for find Ctrl P for print Ctrl S for save Ctrl V for paste Ctrl W for close file Ctrl Home to go to the top of file (cell A1 in Excel) Ctrl End to go to the bottom of file

    5. Tip 3: Customize Quick Access Toolbar The Quick Access Toolbar is visible at all times. You can add your favorite commands to the Quick Access toolbar: Click on the Office Button in the upper left corner Click on Word Options button (or PowerPoint Options or …) Choose Customize from the list of options Find the command from one of the lists Click on Add button – you can then move item up or down Click on OK -OR- Click on the Customize Quick Access Toolbar button & choose More Commands – then follow steps 4-6 from above

    6. Tip 3: Another Technique to add commands to Quick Access Toolbar Go to the Ribbon tab of choice Right click on the desired command Choose Add to Quick Access Toolbar Example: 1. Home tab 2. Paste command options 3. Right click on Paste Special Not all ribbon items can be added to the toolbar

    7. Tip 4: Use the Dialog Box Launchers In the bottom right corner of a group of commands under a Ribbon tab, there is a small button. Click on this button to view a traditional dialog box

    8. Use Microsoft’s Help Resources Click on the blue question mark button in the upper right corner to get to Office Help Enter the command you are looking for & click Search Browse topics such as “What’s new” At bottom, featured content links
