  2. Here are 5 tips to keep in mind when you set off on your quest to buy a new office chair. • “E” is For “Ergonomic” • It Pays to Be Adjustable • It’s All In the Seat • Space Is the Place • Now Featuring!

  3. 1. “E” is For “Ergonomic” An ergonomic chair has back and body support built into its frame and seat back. Look for lumbar support adjustment levers or other ways to adjust the back or seat angle, and to change the tension of the back lumbar support. 

  4. 2- It Pays to Be Adjustable Being able to adjust is a great idea to keep in mind when you are travelling, dealing with your significant other, or negotiating with a six-year-old. Adjustable features are also great to have in an office chair design.

  5. 3. It’s All In the Seat • Let’s face it, you can have the best looking chair in the world, but unless it has a comfortable seat it won’t do you any good. • Look for upholstered fabric or leather designs that offer deep cushions for the most padded feel. 

  6. 4. Space Is the Place • Space, as in, what’s your office space like. If you have deep pile carpets, you may want to opt for a chair with fixed legs. • If you need to be moving about and zipping in and out of your work station, then rolling casters-wheels are the way to go. 

  7. 5. Now Featuring! • Do you want a chair with arms or a sleeker look that is armless? If you are going to be resting your arms on a desk top while you work and type, you may not need to extra bulk of chair arms. • Back or backless? Chairs without a back look sleek and cool, allow for easy access, and are preferred by some artists. For maximum support and comfort, however, a chair with a back and ergonomic features is best. • Finally, a chair design with a footrest gives you the flexibility to elevate your legs while you are working. Also, depending on the type of work you do, a footrest allows you to take the pressure of your feet and lower leg joints.
