  1. Presentation Structure • The research question/hypothesis: What will we learn from this study? • Intro (1) • What did we know before this study?

  2. Methods (1 or 2) • Participants • No critique unless essential. • Variables • No critique unless essential • Type of study, e.g. longitudinal, observational. • Not all studies are observational. • Show us how the methods can answer the research question.

  3. Results and Discussion (3-4) • Again, tell us exactly what was found: What was the answer to the research question? Make sure we know what the variables mean. • You can copy (or re-do) the tables or figures from the article if you wish. • Discussion. Recap results. What is the big picture relation to research topic. What’s the next step?

  4. Final Paper Proposal • Intro. What’s your research question? You need at least 2-3 references. This can include textbook and your summarized article. What remains to be found out? • Methods. How are you going to do this? Who will participate? What will you do? What will you measure?

  5. Presentations • Research question • 4 - 8 sentences • (1-2 from each article) • That answer the question • What you will read next to answer the question • How it will all fit together?

  6. Main point (x3) • Research question • Main answer • Group by results or by study • Give us just enough methods (number of participants type of design, measures) so we can understand • Focus on main point of each article and how it relates to answering your question
