  2. “The Pitch” • Documentarians often approach fund raising organizations to raise the budgets of their films. This is Called pitching the idea. • Encourage teams to brainstorm stories • Students have to sell their top ideas • Can they summarize the idea in one page? • How about one paragraph? One sentence? • Best ideas survive; others get shelved

  3. “The Pitch” • A pitch can be a sentence, a paragraph or one page as well. • Pitching idea is usually a verbal affair. • But you have to write it most of the times. • A pitch lets the reader see the film. • Ineffective pitch introduces the topic but not the story.

  4. “The Pitch” • This is a film about the ethics of genetic testing and about how some people face hard choices. • This is a film about ethics of genetic testing in which we follow an actress making the tough decision about whether to be tested for a disease that claimed her mother’s life.

  5. “The Pitch” • A pitch must be written in a way that it compels its listeners to ask follow up questions. • This documentary is about the hardships and sufferings of Hindu community in Pakistan because of being minority.
