SYSTEM GENERATED OVERPAYMENTS

The nightmare of computing system built debts

System generated overpayments

System Generated Overpayments

When a member has been paid pay and / or allowances not due, the system will automatically collect these funds.

The system collects Current month overpayments from Current month entitlements in order to minimize the possibility of a System Generated Overpayment at end month.

When the system collects Previous month deductions, it will offset the debt with any Previous month entitlement. If the debt is over $150, the system builds an overpayment to liquidate the debt over time IAW collection schedules.

‘Previous Month’ is defined as every monthprior to the current month.
