  1. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today The Angelic Conflict The Winning Side The Losing Side

  2. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • How Satan Works Against The Lives Of People • Remember when God cast Lucifer and his angels from heaven and changed his name to Satan. • When fallen angels were cast out, God called them demons. • Every time a person chooses for God, it shows how perfectly fair God was in dealing with Satan and the fallen angels. • Demons try to turn people against God. • Starting with Adam and Eve, Satan tried to keep them from choosing God’s plan. • When Satan tries to keep you from choosing God’s plan, this is called temptation. • You are being tested to choose between God’s plan (right) and Satan (wrong). • We all have volition and must all choose either FOR or AGAINST God.

  3. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both Unbelievers And Believers • Unbelievers • All people are born into this world as a part of their parent’s family. • You had NO choice in this birth. • But to belong to God’s family, you must be “born again”. • John 3:1–7 (NASB95) • 1Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; • 2this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” • 3Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” • 4Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” • 5Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. • 6“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. • 7“Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’

  4. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both Unbelievers And Believers • Unbelievers • You have a choice and God wants everyone to make the right choice and believe in Him. • 2 Peter 3:9 (NASB95) • 9The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. • 1 Timothy 2:4 (NASB95) • 4who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

  5. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both Unbelievers And Believers • Unbelievers • Believing in the Lord Jesus Christ is the test for all unbelievers. • Will you believe or choose not to believe? • Demons today do everything to keep people from saying YES to God. • Demons don’t want anyone to believe in Jesus Christ because it shows all over again how foolish they were and how fair God is.

  6. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both Unbelievers And Believers • Unbelievers • One attack Satan and the demons use is to confuse the unbeliever so that they will not think straight about the God’s plan for Salvation. • 2 Corinthians 4:3–4 (NASB95) • 3And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, • 4in whose case the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

  7. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both Unbelievers And Believers • Believers • All believers have made the most important decision in their lives, believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. • John 3:16–18 (NASB95) • 16“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. • 17“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. • 18“He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

  8. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both Unbelievers And Believers • Believers • NOW, all believers face other tests daily. They must continue to choose between right and wrong. Testing is a part of life that we all face. • The demons are trying to get you to reject God and His plan which is found in the WOG, the Bible. • 1 Timothy 4:1 (NASB95) • 1But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,

  9. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both UnbelieversAnd Believers • Believers • Satan encourages believers not to trust God, but to worry and be afraid instead. • Hebrews 2:14–15 (NASB95) • 14Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, • 15and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. • Demons use people to accomplish their goals. The believer must be very careful about what he thinks and who he listens to. • Mark 4:24a (NASB95) • 24aAnd He was saying to them, “Take care what you listen to. • Luke 8:18a (NASB95) • 18a”So take care how you listen;

  10. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both Unbelievers And Believers • Believers • Satan and the demons do not only use unbelievers to do their will. They sometimes get foolish believers to do their will. • 1 Timothy 4:1–2 (NASB95) • 1But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some (believers) will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, • 2by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, • 2 Timothy 2:24–26 (NASB95) • 24The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, • 25with gentleness correcting those (believers) who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, • 26and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

  11. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both Unbelievers And Believers • Believers • Demons try to convince people that they have all the answers and that mankind can solve all its problems by doing human good. • Demons trick the world by saying that internationalism is good. • Gods plan is for nations to exist and not have a one-world government. • Satan uses the Bible to confuse people twisting the truth so they misuse it. He tried this with Jesus during His temptation in the wilderness, but Jesus knew the truth and responded with the WOG. • Matthew 4:6–7 (NASB95) • 6and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, ‘He will command His angels concerning You’; and ‘On their hands they will bear You up, So that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’ ” • 7Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’ ”

  12. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both Unbelievers And Believers • Believers • Demons like to encourage all people to think of death as scary and awful. • Believers don’t have to be frightened by death because they know that heaven will be so much better. • 1 Thessalonians 4:13–17 (NASB95) • 13But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. • 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. • 15For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. • 16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. • 17Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

  13. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both Unbelievers And Believers • Believers • Satan sometimes tries to convince people that he is good and wants to help. This is called the attack of the angel of light. Satan is THE deciever • 2 Corinthians 11:13–14 (NASB95) • 13For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. • 14No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. • Satan talked through the serpent using false doctrine in place of truth. • Genesis 3:4 (NASB95) • 4The serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die!

  14. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both Unbelievers And Believers • Believers • Satan is the father of lies and desires others to become liars like he is. He teaches and tells lies. • John 8:44 (NASB95) • 44“You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

  15. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both Unbelievers And Believers • Believers • Satan is also the father of murder and seeks to get others, like Cain, to kill other believers. • 1 John 3:11–12 (NASB95) • 11For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; • 12not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous.

  16. The Angelic Conflict (7) • The Fallen Angels Today • Satan And His Demons Attack Both Unbelievers And Believers • Believers • The Antichrist will follow Satan and kill those that choose for God. • Revelation 13:15 (NASB95) • 15And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause as many (believers) as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. • Memory Verse • 1 Peter 5:8 (NASB95) • 8Be of sober spirit, be on the alert (watchful). Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

  17. The Angelic Conflict (8) The Good/Elect Angels Elect Angels And Unbelievers There is one time in the NT, when an angel told a believer to share the gospel message. Acts 8:26-28,32-35 (NASB95) 26But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, “Get up and go south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to Gaza.” (This is a desert road.) 27So he got up and went; and there was an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure; and he had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28and he was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah. 32Now the passage of Scripture which he was reading was this: “He was led as a sheep to slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He does not open His mouth. 33“In humiliation His judgment was taken away; Who willrelate Hisgeneration? For His life is removed from the earth.” 34The eunuch answered Philip and said, “Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself or of someone else?” 35Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him.

  19. The Angelic Conflict (8) • The Good/Elect Angels • Elect Angels And Unbelievers • Angels warn about punishment that will come during Daniel’s 70th Week. • Revelation 14:6ff • An angel administers punishment / judgment. • Acts 12:20–23 (NASB95) • 20Now he was very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; and with one accord they came to him, and having won over Blastus the king’s chamberlain, they were asking for peace, because their country was fed by the king’s country. • 21On an appointed day Herod, having put on his royal apparel, took his seat on the rostrum and began delivering an address to them. • 22The people kept crying out, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” • 23And immediately an angel of the Lord struck him (Herod) because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and died.

  20. The Angelic Conflict (8) • The Good/Elect Angels • Elect Angels And Unbelievers • Angels have joy in heaven when one unbeliever repents (changes his mind) and believes. • Luke 15:10 (NASB95) • 10“In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner (unbeliever) who repents.”

  21. The Angelic Conflict (8) • The Good/Elect Angels • Elect Angels And Believers • Elect angels observe believers. • 1 Corinthians 4:9 (NASB95) • 9For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as men condemned to death; because we have become a spectacle (a sight, seen) to the world, both to angels and to men. • God uses the elect angels to help each believer. • Hebrews 1:14 (NASB95) • 14Are they not all ministering (supporting) spirits (angels), sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation (believers)?

  22. The Angelic Conflict (8) • The Good/Elect Angels • Elect Angels And Believers • Angels encourage believers. • Acts 27:22–25 (NASB95) • 22“Yet now I urge you to keep up your courage, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship. • 23“For this very night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood before me, • 24saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has granted you all those who are sailing with you.’ • 25“Therefore, keep up your courage, men, for I believe God that it will turn out exactly as I have been told.

  23. The Angelic Conflict (8) • The Good/Elect Angels • Elect Angels And Believers • Angels provide help / deliverance in time of testing or persecution. • Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane • Luke 22:43 (NASB95) • 43Now an angel from heaven appeared to Him (Jesus), strengthening Him. • Joseph protecting Baby Jesus from Herod • Matthew 2:13–20 (NASB95) • 13Now when they had gone, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up! Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is going to search for the Child to destroy Him.” • 19But when Herod died, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, and said, • 20“Get up, take the Child and His mother, and go into the land of Israel; for those who sought the Child’s life are dead.”

  24. The Angelic Conflict (8) The Good/Elect Angels Elect Angels And Believers Angels provide help / deliverance in time of testing or persecution The Apostle in prison Acts 12:6–10 (NASB95) 6On the very night when Herod was about to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and guards in front of the door were watching over the prison. 7And behold, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared and a light shone in the cell; and he struck Peter’s side and woke him up, saying, “Get up quickly.” And his chains fell off his hands. 8And the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and put on your sandals.” And he did so. And he said to him, “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me.” 9And he went out and continued to follow, and he did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10When they had passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened for them by itself; and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.
