The Utah Health Exchange Operability Tomorrow (2012 2013) Serve as landing page to link websites and differentiate system portals Utilize a screening tool to ensure an educational consumer shopping experience Build minimal infrastructure within the Exchange itself to facilitate initial data-sharing as permitted Improved coordination with public health programs and private health insurance Capture consumer participation in public health programs as permitted / authorized

The Utah Health Exchange Operability 2014 Single sign-on capabilities Common brand or network identifier with both private and public stakeholders The screening tool moves beyond a shopping experience and becomes part of any private or public application process where data is entered once and as permitted - recognized in multiple places The UHE will have access to a comprehensive data repository to which it may push and pull information As permitted, utilize data from the All Payer Claims Database

    8. The Utah Health Exchange Lessons Learned Engage brokers as valuable partners Embrace private solutions instead of hiring programmers Find scalable solutions Ensure a level playing field in and outside of the Exchange Beta testing is critical Plan extra time and try to go slow

The Utah Health Exchange Forging Ahead Utilize Planning and Assessment grant to develop a technology blueprint Recognize flexibilities with the ACA and Exchange legislation Stay the course with the States vision of a market-based design and consumer focus Concentrate on the needs associated with data sharing agreements in a multi directional environment between both private and public sector entities
