  1. Pigs Unlimited, Inc. Introduces…

  2. The Process Pigging System

  3. The Benefits of the Process Pigging System Include: • Minimized (or eliminated) cross-contamination. • Decreased down-time for product changeover. • Recovering of “normally wasted” product. • Adaptable to your individual application. • Minimization of dedicated lines. • Increased product purity. Resulting in: $$$ Increased profits $$$

  4. The key is in the design of the pig. It’s design minimizes bypass, which equates to a purer product and less cross-contamination. Up to 99.96% effective at product removal in a single run !

  5. Has 12 Sealing Discs (The most found on ANY pig). Is equipped with a unique nose for retrieval from pipe. Is capable of spanning full-branch tees. Is able to negotiate full-port valves. Is flexible enough to negotiate 1.5-diameter bends. Can be manufactured from various compounds to be compatible with your product. Has the ability to be made to any diameter, length and configuration to fit your application. The ProcessDisplacement Pig…

  6. Typical Application The following illustrates a typical process pigging application. It is an artistic rendering for illustration and theory conveyance only. Your application may differ greatly, but our PDP Pigging System can be adapted to suit.

  7. By utilizing 3-way valves, pigging tees, and standard valves, we have eliminated the need for dedicated lines. Now, one pipe is able to transport product to FOUR different areas of the plant.

  8. We begin pumping product to the Packaging Area. Notice the pig remains in the pigging station, waiting to be launched. Also notice because of the 3-way valve, tees and standard valves, product is not flowing to other areas of the plant.

  9. Production has now been halted (closed valve at tank) and the pig has been launched with air. (Notice that the PDP spans full-branch tees.) A cleaning solution or solvent – or even another product – could be used to propel the pig, depending on your application.

  10. The pig has now negotiated the 3-way valve, ell, and tee, and is approaching the other pigging station. Notice the product that was in the tee, (between the valve and mainline), has fallen back into the pipe. This will be recovered on the return run.

  11. The valve to the Packaging Area has now been closed, and the pig is being sent back to the other pigging station, recovering any product left in the line. Once received, the system can be reconfigured for the next product operation.

  12. Pigging Stations Pressure Gauges Pressure Recorders Flow Regulators Pressure Relief Valves Pig Detectors 3-way Valves Pigging Tees Pigging Ells Loading Arms Hoses & Couplings Demisters To fully utilize the benefits of the PDP Pig, specially designed components need to be considered for incorporation into your system.(click on individual item icon to view details or click “Skip” icon to go to end of presentation.) 13. Pigging Stations Starting and stopping point for the pig, whereby allowing the discs to recover to “relaxed position” before being returned. Available in various designs and configurations for all types of industry requirements. Return to Components Page Next Component Item Skip Component Items

  14. Pressure Gauges & Recorders Pressure Gauges relay vital information to the operator, including monitoring the pig’s process through the line, signaling any trouble with the system. Pressure Recorders are equipped with pen and chart providing permanent records of pressures during operation. These prove helpful in determining problem areas in the system. 15. Pressure Relief Valves & Regulators Pressure Relief Valves are essential when propelling medium is capable of introducing more pressure than pipe’s rating. They are adjustable for individual requirements. Pressure/Flow Regulators maintain a constant output of air regardless of input. This allows for constant pig speed, which aids in the efficiency of the system. Return to Components Page Next Component Item Skip Component Items

  16. Pigging Tees and Ells Pigging Tees are designed to allow product to pass through, but not the pig. They aid in non-dedicated multi-product piping. Pigging Ells are manufactured with 2% or less ovality. This is essential to minimize bypass and cross-contamination. Return to Components Page Next Component Item Skip Component Items

  17. Three-Way Valves Offer the ability of controlling the direction of the pig and product among two or more lines. These greatly minimize the need for dedicated piping in multi-product systems. Return to Components Page Next Component Item Skip Component Items

  18. Pig Detectors Non-intrusive Consists of a magnetic sensor that detects the passage of a pig equipped with a magnet. Units do not require internal access to the line. Intrusive Consists of a probe that protrudes into the pipe and is mechanically triggered by passage of the pig. Units require internal access to the line. 19. Loading Arms & Hoses Loading arms need to be able to accommodate pigging through entire arm. Hoses and couplings can be incorporated into the system as long as they are able to accommodate pigging. Return to Components Page Next Component Item Skip Component Items

  20. Demisters Demisters serve to collect the product mist produced during the return run. The unit is filtered to collect residual product, which can be drained or piped back into product tank. Return to Components Page Next Component Item Skip Component Items

  21. The initial cost is minimal compared to: •$avings gained in recovered product •$avings from minimized piping •$avings in change-over downtime •$avings from wasted product The entire system can be fully automated and operated by a single person in a control room, thus lowering operating costs even further ! Numerous companies in varying processing industries have utilized this system and saved millions of dollars !! !!! Let us do the same for you !!!
