  1. ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY • The Sport Wales National Centre is located in Cardiff and is owned by the Sport Wales. • The centre’s primary role is to provide training and competition facilities for National governing bodies of sport. It also provides recreational facilities for the local community. • The centre recognises the impact that its operations have upon the local environment. These impacts occur through the generation of waste, use of energy, and the procurement of products and services. • We will:- • 1. Commit to prevent pollution and maintain Level 2 of the Green Dragon Environmental standard. • 2. Communicate this environmental policy to all staff and centre users and ensure that the policy is implemented at all levels. • 3. Continuously improve our environmental performance by setting objectives and targets, against which our environmental performance can be measured. • 4. Comply with relevant regulatory and legal environmental requirements, and use cost effective techniques to ensure that the environmental impacts of our activities are minimised. • 5. Continue to monitor and aim to improve electricity, gas and water consumption and waste management at the centre. • The policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure compliance. • Malcolm Zaple • Manager, Sport Wales National Centre Date 2 October 2011
