Changes in Courses for High School • Many concepts fro current Algebra 1 course will be in CC 8th grade math • CC Algebra 1 more rigorous and will incorporate many concepts from current Algebra 2. • Geometry changes the least but will include all of Trigonometry • ADE will create 4th year courses

  7. PARCC Assessment of CC Math • 2014-2015 – Assessments in math and literacy for grades 3-high school. Some end of course assessments in math and literacy… • Online for grades 6 – high school • “Enhanced” multiple choice when year is 90% complete • “Performance assessment” that will measure concepts, content and math practices

  8. Transition for Parents • PIN nights need to give more information about actual content/activities in class • Parents can help with fluency in math • Help parents understand rigor • Websites on book mark • www.jonesborocommoncore.wikispaces.com
