Monologue • One Performer • Two Contrasting Pieces • Only one character from each play may be used • Be sure to secure performance rights • Under 3 Minutes Total • Introduction must include both pieces • Entrant’s Name • Troupe Number • Selection Titles • Playwright’s Name • No props, costumes or theatrical makeup • Must wear all black • One chair

Solo Musical • One Performer • One Song from a published script written for theatre • Songs written for film or television or popular pop songs are not permitted • Under 5 Minutes • Background music must be provided on a CD • No live accompaniment or a capella singing is permitted • Introduction must include • Entrant’s name • Troupe Number • Title of Selection • Playwright/Composer’s Name • No props, costumes or theatrical makeup • Must wear all black • One chair

Duet Acting • 2 Performers • Both have to be actively involved in the scene • One Scene • Must be from published works written for the theatre • Pieces written for film, television, books or any other medium are not permitted • Be sure to secure performance rights • Under 5 Minutes • Introduction must include • Entrant’s names • Troupe Number • Title of Selection • Playwright’s Name • No props, costumes or theatrical makeup • Must wear all black • Up to two chairs

Costume Construction • One Entrant • Play Titles TBA by EDTA • Fully constructed item • Must be entirely original • Total receipts may not exceed $100 ($50 for millinery) • Itemized expense sheet mounted on display board • Costume Research Collage on a 20” x 30” presentation board • Label on lower right hand corner • Should document construction process • 10 Minute Presentation with a 5 minute Q&A • ½” binder with additional information • Garment on hanger/Accessories in box. • DO NOT WEAR COSTUME. • See complete guidelines at www.mo-thespians.com
