All of our personal trainers have a minimum of an Exercise Science degree, a current CPR certification, and a national certification from either the American College of Sports Medicine or the National Strength & Conditioning Association. Benefits of working with a Personal Trainer: 1. With expert knowledge, a personal trainer can help you improve overall strength, flexibility, endurance, and posture, as well as achieve any personal goals. 2. Lack of time is one of the most often cited reasons for not exercising. A Personal trainer can create a program that is both effective and efficient. Maximize the time you have available. 3. Lack of variety in your exercise program can lead to boredom and decreased motivation. A personal trainer can help you by frequently changing your exercise routine while maintaining focus on your overall health and fitness goals. Benefits of the Combination Consults†: 1. You will gain the tools you need to discover the connection between nutrition, exercise, and overall wellness. Your progress will be monitored by pre-and post program assessment results. 2. With expert knowledge, a dietitian will help you learn to make lifestyle changes through healthy recipes, kitchen modifications, and improved shopping habits. 3. Together, the Personal Trainer and the Registered Dietitian will guide you every step of the way toward making the healthy nutritional choices, combined with lifestyle modifications, that are necessary for a lifetime of success. If you are interested in scheduling Personal Training or Nutrition Consultations, please stop by the Members Services Front Desk or call us at 814-868-7800. Appointment Cancellation Policy- A 24-hour notice of cancellation is requested. After two violations, a full session will be deducted from the remaining appointments. The policy will not renew with the purchase of additional sessions. *Non-members are required to complete a Health History Questionnaire and obtain a Physician’s Clearance Form (if necessary, based on risk factors) prior to participation in personal training services. †The Registered Dietitian (RD) credential is a legally protected title that can be used only by practitioners who are authorized by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association. While some RDs may call themselves “nutritionists,” please be aware that not all nutritionists are Registered Dietitians. The definition and requirements for the term “nutritionist” vary. Some states, such as Pennsylvania, have licensure laws that define the range of practice for someone using the designation "nutritionist.“ In other states, however, virtually anyone can call him or herself a “nutritionist,” regardless of education or training.
