  2. Story • Set in the middle ages, your character is out on a hunt with some friends, as per his usual weekend. As a renowned hunter, you enjoy spending time hunting some of the more simpler game. Only simpler game does not await you today. • Crossing paths with a Royal Battlemage, you discover that there is something dangerous on the loose, and you set off after it… • The legendary Bardouis a wolf twisted by magic who resides in the magical forest of Ardean. Your two paths are destined to cross, and you are about to find out why.

  3. Story (cont) • As the player travels to the forest he meets many of its denizens, and will have the ability to make some of it’s more dangerous creatures into his pets.(Not this release)

  6. Player Role and Actions • The player must make their way through a series of mazes that make up the forest in order to reach Bardou. The prologue level does not have any of these puzzles. • Along the way they must slay corrupt woodland creatures who bar the way through, they may also find items that may assist them in their quest. • Killing enemies rewards the player with experience which will track how well the player is doing and can alter stats, when the player levels up.

  7. Player Role (cont) • The player will be able to navigate around the level to collect items, solve puzzles, and either avoid or engage enemies. This will be accomplished using either wasdor gamepad. • After engaging an enemy the game will shift to a turn based battle in which the player will be able to select attacks and try to defeat the enemy party.

Strategies and Motivations • The players motivation it to collect more powerful equipment in order to possibly defeat Bardouand claim its pelt as his prize. • Some strategies include learning from previous play-throughs and lives because the levels will be set up the same with enemy randomization, also the player will want to fight everything and find all of the extra loot in order to be powerful enough to defeat Bardou.

  9. Level Progression • Each level will be a single maze zone in the forest and in order to progress to the next zone the player must accomplish certain goals specified to unlock the path deeper in to the forest. Non-level areas will exist, with the objective of exploration and dicovery. • Each level will have progressively more difficult enemies and more powerful loot.

  10. Hardware and Software • We will be building the game for Windows 7 or 8, 8 being prefered. Runnable on just about any relatively modern pc. • We will be using Construct 2 to make the game.

  11. Algorithm Style • 2D sprite animation. • Randomization of party stats upon game creation. And randomization for each level for the enemies the player will face and the loot to be had within a range based upon the specific level difficulty. • Collision detection for the walls of the maze as well as deciding when enemy encounters occur and if the player triggers and traps.

  12. Algorithm Style (cont) • Enemy AI for the battles between the player and the enemies, this will be decided upon by a random generator to seed what moves the enemy will choose to use on the players party. • Hit chance for all attacks will be based on a roll.
