Management • Set up monitors before class • We have them numbered • Have students put on monitors • Have students grab one right when they get in class • Have students put them on while taking attendance • Have students take one before getting dressed • Common problems • Security • Time consuming

  3. Management • Equipment: • E600 Polar Heart Rate Monitors • Straps • Transmitters • Watches • Would anyone like to participate with us to learn hands on? • Partner up with only one wearing a monitor

How to use Monitors • Make sure starting from clock screen • Press blue button to get there • Press upper right button twice to options screen • Press red button twice to select screen and set limits • Press upper right to set upper limit • Press lower right to set lower limit • Make sure start from clock screen • Press blue button to get there • Press red button once to get to the standby screen • Check connection • Great = heart with outline • Good = heart without outline • None = just outline or heart • Press red button again to start downloading Set Limits Start

  5. Common Problems • Interference • Strap not tight enough • Proper placement of transmitter • Possibly need to wet transmitter

  6. Use • Aerobic/Anaerobic • 170 - 200 • Cardiovascular • 140 - 165 • Fat Burning • 120 - 140 • Powerball • High intensity • Step Aerobics • Cardiovascular • Speed Walking • Fat burning Heart Rate Zones Activities

  7. Management Look at File: -Press upper right button to get to file screen Press red button twice to select file Press upper right and lower right buttons to toggle through file to see amount of time in, above, or below zone

  8. management • Clean Up • Press the blue button until you reach the clock screen • Take all of the equipment off • Clean equipment • Put equipment back into it’s proper spot • PE Manager • Download information • Create graph • Print results of each person, or class • Print summary results for whole quarter or semester
